General Strike and Anti-Ice Activities | January 30th 2026

This is a running list of cafes and ancillary organizations participating in the general strike on January 30, 2026, as well as those participating in other ways, such as donating a portion of their proceeds to mutual aid organizations or other events.

Archestratus Books & Food is holding a bake sale on Saturday at their Greenpoint shop from 2-6pm and donating 100% of proceeds to Minnesota mutual aid. Coffee Klatsch (that’s us) and Driftaway Coffee will be providing coffee at the event.

If you do patronize a small business on Friday, try to use cash.

Please support these small businesses as much as possible going forward.

Ants Coffee – Williamsburg

Staying open Friday but offering free coffee.

Bakeri – Various

Staying open Friday but donating 20% of sales to Immigrant Defense Project.

Brooklyn Granary & Mill – Gowanus

Due to the logistics of bakery operations and the time horizon required for dough resting, etc., Brooklyn Granary & Mill will remain open, but will be holding a Community Bake Sale. They are offering bread, pastries and drip coffee and all items will be free or donation-based, with proceeds going to the Community Aid Network of Minneapolis.

Boyfriend Co-op, Bushwick

Donating 15% of all Friday’s sales to Comunidad Primero and offering free drip coffee to people on their way to the protest in Foley Square.

Bungee Space – Lower East Side

Their gate will be half closed, and they’ll be offering free drip coffee, cookies and hot water.

Cafe MSMN – Greenpoint

Closed Friday.

Cadet Coffee – Greenpoint

All profits Friday donated to the ACLU Immigrants Rights Project.

Cafe Colmado – Lower East Side

Closed Friday.

Cafe Grumpy – Various

10% of Friday’s sales donated to Immigrant Defense Project.

Che – Bedford Stuyvesant

Both locations, the original on Malcom X Blvd, and the one inside Sincerely Tommy, are closed to support the general strike.

Ciao Gloria – Prospect Heights

They note that January’s been a really tough month for them, but they are donating 10% of Friday’s profits to the Immigrant Defense Project.

Coffee Project NY – Various Locations

Their shops will remain open, but the online shop will be closed for the day, and they are donating 20% of all proceeds from all locations to the New York Immigration Coalition.

The Community Boutique – East Village

Closed Friday.

Dayglow – Bushwick

Closed Friday. “Fuck Ice”

Daytime – Williamsburg, Windsor Terrace

Open Friday but donating an unspecified amount to unspecified organizations.

Dolly’s Coffee Shop – Ocean Hill

Closed Friday. “Community above everything. We believe in dignity, safety, and humanity for all.”

Early Yves – Bedford Stuyvesant

Drinks and pastries only, kitchen closed, everything free or donation-based.

Fan Fan Doughnuts – Bedford Stuyvesant

Closed Friday.

Flower Cat – Greenpoint

Closed during regular business hours, reopening in the evening for a planned event.

Georgies – Lower East Side

Closed Friday.

Honey Moon – Ridgewood

Honey Moon is staying open but banding together with a bunch of local businesses to donate a portion of proceeds to Immigrant Defense Project and Comunidad Primero.

Judy’s – Sunset Park

10% of all sales Friday will be donated to Make the Road New York.

Kettl & Kettl Sen Mon Ten – Greenpoint

Both are closed on Friday.

Kijitora – Various

Devoting 100% of Friday’s profits to an unspecified organization.

Kyo – Bedford Stuyvesant

They’re staying open but donating a portion of receipts to unspecified organizations. They said they will share details after Friday.

Land to Sea – East Williamsburg

They’re closed on Friday but point out that its been a difficult winter for small business and ask that you deliberately patronize them going forward.

Le Petit Monster – Clinton Hill

Closed Friday.

Lisbonata – Crown Heights

Open Friday and donating 20% of all sales to Immigrant Defense Project.

Liz’s Book Bar – Carroll Gardens

Open with free drip coffee all day. Donating a portion of sales to Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee.

Loveless – Bushwick

They’re remaining open but are donating 100% of profits to Immigrant Defense Project. They recommend paying with cash.

Maru – Williamsburg

Remaining open Friday but donating 100% of the day’s profits to The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights.

Mister Cheeks – Carroll Gardens

They are closed Friday and donating 10% of drink sales on Saturday to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota.

Obscure – Bushwick

Obscure is staying open but will be donating a portion of Friday and Saturday’s sales to Comunidad Primero.

Otway Bakery – Clinton Hill

Remaining open Friday but donating 50% of sales to NYIC Emergency Justice Fund.

Passionfruit – Bedford Stuyvesant

Passionfruit is remaining open but donating a portion of the entire weekend’s sales to Comunidad Primero and Colectivo Intercultural TRANSgrediendo.

Playground – Bedford Stuyvesant

Closed Friday.

Postmark Cafe – Park Slope

They’re staying open but donating 25% of Friday’s earnings to an unspecified organization. They hope people will come by and stock up their community fridge and get to know their neighbors for future solidarity.

Closed Friday. Raising money Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for a pre-school patrol program.

Rite.Coffee – Williamsburg
