Chinatown cafe Bazu! is hosting Japanese company Kazumi, a maker of siphon brewers, for an all-day brewing event, presumably using the coffee shop's standard line-up of Glitch, Apollon's Gold and coffee self-roasted under the Superwow moniker.
This is the 25th coffee crawl in this series. We will be stopping for approximately 1 hour each at the the first two shops, Harlem's Superhet and Chelsea's Tera Espresso Bar, before heading to home base, Principles GI Coffee House in Gowanus, Brooklyn. After a week-long pourover residency at Paris multi-roaster cafe, Harvest (one of our faves), 13 Anemones is back in town for another Mott Haven espresso and pourover pop-up featuring their favorite Belgian roaster, Rush Rush.
In the year since Park at Kims opened, it has evolved into one of our best multi-roaster shops, sourcing Korean (and other) coffees not often found in New York City and preparing them well. Every Wednesday we meet to explore the New York City specialty coffee scene, this week at Banh by Lauren, a Vietnamese-French bakery in Two Bridges. Banh by Lauren has the best coffee program for a dedicated bakery in the city. Afterwards we will probably head over to Bazu! in Chinatown, a few blocks away.

Every Wednesday we meet to explore New York City specialty coffee, this week at NoHo's Semm, which opened this past Friday.
Semm is a Korean-leaning cafe, wine bar and gallery. The menu is divided into four sections: tea pot service, tea and malcha, pourovers and espresso drinks. Their coffee, primarily co-ferments, is roasted by Tera, and David Wynn, Tera's owner, consulted on this cafe.
