Bar Takeovers

For the first time in a few years, Ottawa's Lulo is in town and taking over the slow bar at Bushwick's Obscure Coffee.

Two of our faves are joining up; Brooklyn Heights multi-roaster shop, Náko, is hosting East Williamsburg roaster, Driftaway Coffee, for a bar takeover on Friday.

As part of his ongoing Japan Trip pourover tour, Shin Brews (in the person of Shin Tsutsui) will be behind the bar at Korean multi-roaster shop, Little Italy's Park at Kims. 

This is apparently the weekend of new combinations of old favorites. Rising star Obscure Coffee is taking over the slow bar at Bedford Stuyvesant's Che; this will be at the second location inside boutique, Sincerely Tommy.

Under new Development Manager Griffin Deutsch, wallflower Regalia Coffee is stepping out into society with a full bar takeover at multi-roaster shop, Villager, in Crown Heights.

Nano-roaster Queens Qoffee Qollective is taking over the bar at Moon Coffee Lab, with "assorted offerings." More details forthcoming.

Nashville roaster Draped in Blue is taking over the bar at Suited with coffees roasted exclusively for this event.

Cafe Essx, a new coffee shop inside of Essx NYC, a Lower East Side designer boutique, is hosting the members of Hyunah Coffee Club for a pop-up. Greenpoint-based Hyunah is a members-only club where people reserve time to use all of the top end and latest equipment to brew coffee. Their members will be brewing for the general public this Saturday at Essx.

Nashville roaster Draped in Blue is taking over the bar at Suited with coffees roasted exclusively for this event.

Deep Cut, a nano-roaster from Astoria, with plans to eventually open their own cafe in the neighborhood, are doing their first event ever, a bar takeover at Bushwick's Secret Coffee. They'll be serving their current single origin line-up on pourover as well as a washed Bourbon Sidra from Huila, Colombia on espresso.

Multi-roaster shop Three Legged Cat is hosting Jersey City roaster, Modcup, for a bar takeover. The last time they hosted them was October 2024.

Nano-roaster Anthro, run by Coffee Klatsch regular Jake Cho, is doing its very first event ever, a bar takeover at Bushwick multi-roaster shop, Secret Coffee.
