Coffee Klatsch Education Series | Worker Coffee at Principles GI Coffee House, Gowanus

Wednesday, October 21 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Coffee Klatsch is starting an education series, a set of events that will oftentimes coincide with our Wednesday weekly meetups.

For the inaugural session, nano-roaster Worker Coffee, in the person of founder Errin Buhyoff, has planned out an educational pathway for us, and multi-roaster cafe Principles GI Coffee House, in Gowanus, has generously agreed to host.

Errin has roasted two Ethiopians especially for the event, a washed (Habtamu Fikadu’s Chelbesa) and a natural (from Hanan Million Getachew in Hambella Guji), and says that they are both very similar in terms of physical specifications (moisture content, bean morphology, density, and grading). Each coffee will have a light and a dark roast, and via cupping and then brewing we will explore side by side to see how the processing changes the flavor profile. In addition, we will examine how the roast profiles affect the different processing types (washed vs natural).

Afterwards, for those that have time, we will share some pourovers prepared by Principles.

Come on time for this one.

Please RSVP below.

Join us for a special weekly meetup, the inaugural session of the Coffee Klatsch education series, taking place at Principles GI Coffee House and featuring nano-roaster Worker Coffee.
