Coffee Klatsch Weekly Meetup | Phê, Lower East Side

Every Wednesday we meet to explore New York City specialty coffee, this week at Vietnamese cafe, Phê, on the Lower East Side, just north of the Chinatown border.

Phê opened this past January as an offshoot of Mắm, a restaurant a couple of storefronts south on Forsyth. Recently they’ve gotten specialty coffee religion and started using Vietnam-sourced beans roasted by New York nano-roaster Worker Coffee. They also brought on veteran barista Trevor Williams to man the controls Sundays through Wednesdays.

Afterwards we will probably visit a nearby cafe or bakery, possibly Gem, in Nolita, a Coffee Klatsch favorite.
